GDE MAC OS X Download

An integrated linux environment for bioinformatics and evolutionary analysis based on the Genetic Data Environment (GDE).

Cite the usage of GDE by citing the following paper
de Oliveira T, Miller R, Tarin M, Cassol S. An Integrated Genetic Data Environment (GDE)-Based LINUX Interface for Analysis of HIV-1 and Other Microbial Sequences. (2003) Bioinformatics, 19(1): 153-4.

Due to many requests the Genetic Data Environment (GDE) was recently ported to MAC OS X by BioLateral (contact Tim Littlejohn with questions about the port) as part of their efforts to bring Unix bioinformatic programs to the Macintosh platform.

The requirements are MacOS X 10.2 (Jaguar) or better, X11 and a few xview libaries. I am using Apple but it should run under XDarwin with XFree86 with a windows manager such as OroborOSX.

Installation Instructions and file modifications are found at Eric Linton Mac GDE pages

  • Much more information on GDE for MAC OS X can be found at the MacGDE home pages - Please visit it !
